The Long Road Towards Reconciliation: Theoretical Elements and the EU’s Contribution to Working Towards Peace

Abstract Reconciliation has played an important role in all peacebuilding processes. Its importance depends on multiple factors play and interests that are not only material but also symbolic, ethical–political social. In this regard, the European Union, as international strategic actor Colombia recent decades, been supporting different peace processes country. practice, meant understanding construction strengthening of rule law, expanding system guarantees openly promoting transitional justice, elements Union supported with Peace Agreement 2016. This chapter aims to analyse Union’s track record terms reconciliation Colombia. Furthermore, it looks at history three interventions through Laboratories, support for CNRR creation action Fund Peace.
